A CLEAR VIEW WITH ANTIFOG GLASS
8th April 2014

Forget condensation and enjoy a clear view with Antifog (AF) glass, the new range of glazing solutions in AGC’s high performance Planibel Low-e family that features clear float glass with a transparent pyrolytic coating to the outside of the glass.

As advancements in magnetron coated glass lead to more thermally efficient IG units, this can result in unsightly condensation to the outside of the building. Proud new customers of a new conservatory or new windows could find themselves unable to see through their windows at certain times of the year or in certain climatic conditions. AGC now has the solutions that will virtually eliminate these common problems and more.

Applied to the outside of the glass, AGC’s AF glass toughenable coating provides protection from atmospheric radiation, keeping the glass at a temperature just above the dew point thus reducing condensation that occurs overnight or at dawn when there has been a significant drop in temperature and the relative humidity is high. AGC’s Mark Rodgers says: “Planibel Low-e AF glass can be used in both double and triple glazing and, thanks to its various assembly options, is suitable for even the most demanding residential applications.”
