Solidor has recently expanded its slab only offering for fabricators and door manufacturers, with the offering of a complete range of door designs, 17 through colours inside and out, ODL TriSYS cassettes, glazing, hardware and accessories all delivered nationwide in 3-5 days.

The company already satisfies the demands of a number of high profile fabricators and believes their latest expanded offering will further entice manufacturers to make the change to a composite door slab that’s produced in the UK with a solid, hardwood core. An important feature is that all the doors are finished off with an exterior window grade foil finish that’s a perfect match for nearly all standard PVCu door profiles.

The Solidor slab is 10% thicker than the standard imported ones from the Far East and is perfectly suited to a standard door outer frame from the likes of Kömmerling, Deceuninck, Rehau, Spectus, Swish, Synseal and VEKA among many other leading systems in the UK. For fabricators it’s a huge benefit to be able to use a standard door outer frame and so there’s no issue of additional stockholding for a dedicated composite door frame in white, plus all of the colour options and with a different reinforcement section.

The door slabs have been recently re-engineered to offer better levels of energy efficiency with some slabs achieving a U-value of just 1.3 W/m2K, while the 62mm door slab can achieve the Passivhaus standard of 0.8 W/m2K. We have worked with the internationally renowned, IFT Rosenheim GmbH in Germany and by Build Check Ltd in the UK on this project to enhance our offering.

In the Solidor production facility the latest CNC equipment allows for the routing for any combination of lock, handle and hinge, while all the door slabs are edgebanded for extended performance as standard and have been fully tested in the UK and Germany for security and thermal performance. Solidor carries ISO 9001:2008, while the products are covered by BSI Kitemark for enhanced security, PAS 23-24 and Secured by Design accreditation, along with CE Marking and a comprehensive 10 year warranty.

Customers also have access to an award-winning consumer marketing campaign that includes brochures, colour swatches, videos, Apple and Android apps and the latest Door Designer software that can be incorporated within any customers website. There are even videos on YouTube highlighting the better security that a solid timber core composite door offers.
