Watt a challenge!
7th May 2019

GM Fundraising is returning to this year’s FIT Show, courtesy of the organisers, to raise awareness of its upcoming cycling challenge, ‘From Russia With Hope’ and to invite everyone along to stand D6 to take part in The Watt Bike Challenge.

“With just a couple of months to go until the start of the final GM Fundraising cycling challenge, ‘From Russia With Hope’ the FIT Show has kindly donated us space to raise awareness of the ride and gain some much-needed support,” said Gary Morton, founder of GM Fundraising.

“Starting on 10th June, ‘From Russia With Hope’ will see a team of 18 from the fenestration industry cycle over 2,700 miles from St Petersburg, through 10 countries all the way back to Hope House in Oswestry, in just 12 days.

“To give a taste of the challenge we’ll be undertaking we’re setting up The Watt Bike Challenge to see how you fare against the clock on this notoriously tough static bike – come along and have a go!

“Although cycling is prominent in our minds, there’s a lot more to talk about as well: being part of the GMF family doesn’t necessarily require you to take on one of these ridiculous challenges.  We’ve got lots of events going on in 2020 that caters for everyone – there will be another gruelling ‘girls-only’ challenge and we’ll also be hosting the GMF Cup, the golf day and the next gala dinner.

“We will also be supported by the team from Hope House, who will be taking the opportunity to meet and greet old friends and new, raise awareness of the services they provide to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families, and tell you exactly how the money we raise is spent.”

Alison Marsh, Head of Fundraising at Hope House added: “We are really excited to be able to support GM Fundraising at the FIT Show 2019.  As one of our biggest contributors, we see the effect of the amazing support the fenestration industry gives to the charity through GM Fundraising every day.  Being part of the exhibition give us a chance to personally say thank you, so please come and see us!”
