Yorkshire fabricator DIRECT TRADE has chosen Pilkington United Kingdom Ltd as its primary glass supplier in a one-year agreement that will see the trade specialist source Pilkington energiKare™ insulating sealed glass units for all of the windows, doors and conservatory walls it fabricates.
Direct Trade has already used Pilkington energiKare™ energy-efficient glazing as standard for over 10 years, but this is the first time a partnering agreement has been signed between the two brands.
Steve Green, Managing Director of Direct Trade, said: “We aim to lower the U-value on all products to ensure our installer base can provide their customers with added value, energy efficient doors and windows. Incorporating the Pilkington energiKare™ range of products into our offering has played an important part in successfully achieving this.”
Pilkington Domestic Products National Sales Manager John Spiby said: “We take a great deal of pride in the technical expertise that goes into developing our products, with the aim of making it as easy as possible for our fabricator customers to sell. This deal is evidence that this strategy is working.”
Established in 1998, Direct Trade manufactures and supplies uPVC windows from its 60,000 sq ft factory near Doncaster. It also has two further factories in the area which produce doors and conservatory systems.
Pilkington energiKare™ double glazing uses advanced coatings, glass mixtures and gas-filled cavities to minimise heat loss and allow more of the sun’s energy to enter the building.
