Lincoln-based STERNFENSTER has invested over £4million this year, a substantial part of which was directed at a new dedicated aluminium window and door factory, due to open in November. The plant will house production lines and a powder-coating facility acquired by the fabricator earlier this year. It will provide an additional 25,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space on top of the existing 80,000 sq. ft., as well 11,000 sq. ft. of office space.
MD Mike Parczuk said: “We’ve made major investments to both expand and streamline our operations, including bringing services like powder-coating for aluminium in-house to cut costs and deliver quicker lead times to our trade customers.”
“We’ve been in this business for over 40 years, we think long-term and focus on the big picture, rather than maximising short-term gains.
“We constantly seek to adapt and improve. One of our latest investments, for example, has seen the installation of a solar energy system which is now providing us with 10% of our annual electricity consumption. This is part of our ongoing efforts to reduce our business’ carbon footprint and goes hand in hand with our efforts to expand operations, add more product choice and improve customer service.”
