New management boosts growth at Magden Rotherham branch

Roofline and insulated glazing products distributor Magden is investing in its Rotherham branch as the store goes from strength to strength.
 
The Rotherham branch recorded a 54 per cent increase in sales compared to the same time last year, under its new manager Antony Fearn.
 
To further accelerate growth the Rotherham branch has a new deputy manager, Chris Evans, and has recently invested in a new trade counter.
 
Magden commercial director Laurence Hicks said: “We’ve seen an uplift in sales since Antony joined the Rotherham branch as manager and we expect that to continue with Chris Evans coming in as deputy.
 
“Chris previously worked for Scotplas and has significant experience in roofline, which will make him a valuable addition to the team.”
 
Branch manager Antony said the impressive increase in sales had been a team effort.
 
“The market has improved across roofline and the IG products over the past year, which has helped us get an uplift, added to that I honestly think our staff are better than the competition,” he said. “We have a great team who are focused on customer service, and I think that makes the difference.”
 
Along with a new deputy manager, the Rotherham branch has also taken on the company’s first apprentice – 17-year-old Joshua Adams who joined Magden this autumn.
 
Antony said: “Joshua has settled into the team really well and is learning the Magden way of doing things. This is his first job, and we’ve been really impressed by the way he has adapted to the role.”
 
The apprenticeship is likely to be one of many for Magden, with the company announcing it will be looking for new trainees across all five of its branches over the coming months.
