DHF TO HOST 2015 ARGE CONFERENCE
6th January 2015

ARGE has announced that its 2015 annual conference will be held in the UK, in partnership with one of its longest standing members, The Door and Hardware Federation (DHF).

Due to take place on 10th and 11th September 2015, the decision was confirmed at the recent Executive Board meeting in Düsseldorf, where this year’s conference in Veneto was also reviewed.

A longstanding industry body and committed member of ARGE, the DHF is also one of the largest trade associations with nearly 300 members. Having been an active player in helping its members comply with the changes to CE marking legislation, the DHF is also signed up to ARGE’s EPD programme.

Commenting on the prospect of a UK conference, DHF Executive Chairman, Bob Perry said: “We have been a member of ARGE for many years, and as such are delighted to be hosting the next annual conference in the UK. As an organisation the DHF is committed to raising the standards for the industries it represents and in turn creating confidence amongst our members’ customers, we feel that being a member of a pan-European association, like ARGE, helps us to achieve this on a wider scale.

“The 2015 ARGE conference will be a critical milestone in formalising and delivering parts of the EPD programme, which the DHF has actively supported. By encouraging the uptake of initiatives such as generic EPDs and access to the CEN committee, we can help to raise standards and awareness of issues that will impact on our members’ businesses. We hope that the 2015 conference provides a forum for discussing some of the key issues facing our industry and we look forward to welcoming our fellow ARGE members to the UK.”

Further updates on the EPD journey will be announced following an EPD Steering Committee meeting in December. Keeping on course with original timescales, ARGE hopes to confirm the programme-holder, with companies selected for PCR data collection. Following this a feasibility study will define which product groups will be covered by the initial wave of generic EPDs later in the year.
