£2million investment includes a UK first

FLOAT GLASS INDUSTRIES has completed a £2million re-investment programme which includes a brand new 7,000 square foot factory extension and new machine technology.
At the centre of the investment are three state-of-the-art machinery installations: the Glaston FC500– 2800 x 6000 – Tempering Plant, which was the first to be installed in this country, a Busetti 2200 x 3000 Special Double Edging Line and a Forel 2.8 Vertical Edging Machine.

The Glaston machine, which has several patented technologies, is said to produce glass with unbeatable optical performance and flatness, which will further enhance the company’s reputation for quality across its ranges of toughened, processed and Everseal IG High Performance Insulated Glass. The 2800x6000 bed of the FC500 will be further supported by the installation in June 2015 of a Forel Vertical Edging Machine which auto arrisses & smooth’s the edges of the thicker glasses up to 2.8m.

The Busetti 2200 x 3000 Special Double Edging Line produces high quality, consistent edgework with automatic squaring which is so important to the range of Float Glass Industries’ processed glass products such as partitioning, shower screen and balustrades.
