EMPLAS National Sales Manager Jody Vincent has completed the London Marathon to raise more than £3500 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Jody completed the gruelling 26 mile 365 yard challenge through the streets of the Capital in a highly respectable 5 hours and 3 minutes. He decided to take on this year’s following the death of his uncle, Peter Wright on Christmas Eve last year following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jody said: “Anyone who was lucky enough to know Peter, would know what a kind, loving person he was. He would do anything for anyone, and had a great sense of humour. It was horrible seeing him go through the last year of his life suffering from one of the worst forms of cancer. He tried so hard to keep fighting and kept his sense of humour throughout.
“When he was diagnosed, I was shocked to learn of the survival rate of pancreatic cancer, there are so many forms of cancer but pancreatic cancer is overlooked and research is underfunded.”
