Aluminium systems gain SBD

Architectural aluminium systems supplier KAWNEER has achieved Secured by Design accreditation for a range of its window and door systems.

Extensive testing of the company’s products to PAS 24:2012 means architects, planners, contractors and client end users can be assured that Kawneer products provide a high level of resistance to criminal attack.

More than 400 companies are now licensed to promote their Police Preferred Specification systems, with certification increasingly being listed as a mandatory requirement in tenders, particularly public sector ones.

Secured by Design principles have been proven to reduce crime for new and refurbished homes and commercial premises by up to 75% by combining minimum standards of physical security with natural surveillance and defensible space.
