NEW PROMAT APPOINTMENTS
5th August 2014

In a move which underlines its commitment to the fire and security glass industry, Promat has announced two new key appointments. Stuart Howe and Geoff Smith have joined the company as Technical Consultants and will work as part of the Promat Securiglass team, providing technical support to the company’s customers, particularly in the specification market.

“Stuart and Geoff will focus primarily on our Promat-SYSTEMGLAS® fire-rated glazing range, and their great industry experience will make a very positive contribution to its continued growth in popularity,” comments Promat’s Business Development Director, Ian Cowley.

“Geoff and I both have considerable experience of working for an accredited Promat-SYSTEMGLAS® installer, and we’ve used the system on many projects that we’ve been involved in,” says Stuart Howe. “We know the tremendous potential that it offers to architects and specifiers and we’re delighted to help get that message out to the market.”

Promat-SYSTEMGLAS® is a glazing system that allows designers and architects to make full use of natural light within their buildings, by using simple butt joints which eliminate the need for mullions in large areas of fire-resistant glazing. It allows the creation of glazed screens without vertical or horizontal framing, and all-glass doors, while still providing fire ratings of up to 120 minutes. It has been used on many recent projects, including the National Portrait Gallery and the BT Tower in London, Belfast’s Mater Hospital and the Discovery Museum in Gateshead.

“Promat Securiglass has a very strong reputation for the reliable technical advice it provides, and Stuart and Geoff will add considerably to the tremendous technical expertise we can offer,” adds Ian Cowley. “They will be working with architects and specifiers to provide guidance, resolve technical queries and help them create glazing which brings their buildings to life. Having the very best people in the industry helps us create solutions for our customers which meet, and often exceed, their requirements.
These appointments strengthen our ability to offer the industry a service which goes from providing technical advice through to the supply of the glazing itself, all from under the same roof. This ‘single-source’ ability really sets us apart from the competition.”
