Installation of the Year winner
4th September 2018

Atlas this week announced the winners of its Installation of the Year Awards with the top prize going to Village Conservatories with an L-shaped orangery. Bringing together aluminium, reclaimed brick, glass and two large Atlas lanterns, the design impressed the judges with its ‘clever use of space around the home, great finishing touches and the quality of installation given the challenges it created’.

Village Conservatories’ owner Colin Dicker said. “I’m as ecstatic to win this award as our client was with their orangery! Their two lanterns really make this project special and they perform superbly all year round.”

Second place saw a return for March 2017 winner Vale Orangeries of South Wales. The judges ‘loved the way their design for a light and airy ultra-modern extension used a full range of glazing products, including the Atlas Flat Rooflight, and cleverly made the most of the space’.

In third place was May winner Vision Conservatories with a design that ‘successfully bridged the addition of a contemporary extension to a traditional house, using a bold pyramid lantern to create a striking look’.

This year’s winner of the special Innovation Award was Keymer Double Glazing of West Sussex with a one-off extension on a grand, multi-level property which ‘combined the clever use of space with a large Atlas lantern to create as much light as possible in an underground extension, which the judges loved’ (see Photo feature on main page).
