Trade fabricator Tradelink, has invested in a Stuga machine centre which brings its total of Stuga cut and preparation centres to eight across its two sites.
Tradelink’s Managing Director, Jim Moody comments: “We have ensured the standardisation of all of our centres as part of our Quest Improvement Programme. By making all processes throughout the company the same we can make substantial savings and ensure more streamlined manufacturing facilities to ensure a higher quality of product for our customers. And as a direct result of standardising our Stuga centres we have reduced our stock of spare parts by 70%.
“All of our Stuga machines are run using the same programmes but different operating systems, which allows us the flexibility to programme a machine in a completely separate part of the factory to run a different profile for example. Networked into our company server, programmes could be switched at the touch of a button. We can also be confident that if there should be a problem with any of the machines, or either of our manufacturing sites, we can interchange the operatives to reduce downtime. All of this flexibility gives us the infrastructure to adapt quickly to our customers’ needs and provide a consistently high level of service.”
