During the course of September 2016, shaped and arched frame specialist, Universal Arches experienced a record order intake of 350 frames in three days last month, with sales calendar year to date up 11%.

Leon Day, managing director of Universal Arches said: “350 frames is an incredible statistic when you consider that we manufacture each frame by hand on benches, by skilled personnel. But what’s arguably more impressive is the way in which we can cope with such demand, as we look to build the business further.

“I believe the shaped frame sector is in a good position at present, as we’ve still a large number of first generation timber products that are yet to be replaced. In effect, we’re considerably behind on the product life cycle than the market for typical square frames and so the medium term prospects for us are very good.”
