Improved differential movement

Leading foam tapes manufacturer ISO-Chemie has improved the movement capacity of its specialist timber frame sealing tape.

The new premium edition of the ISO-Bloco T-Max has been designed for multi-storey timber frame structures, where it compensates for the large amount of differential movement which can occur between the internal timber wall and roofs and the external brick or block work.

The sealing tape has been specifically engineered to give 39mm of movement and ensure the joint remains weather tight to a minimum of 450Pa (suitable for buildings up to 20m high, 5-6 storeys), equivalent to Storm Force 10 on the Beaufort scale.

Incorporating fire resistant qualities, the self adhesive and slow expanding ISO-Bloco T-Max premium edition provides an effective perimeter weather and air tightness seal for windows, particularly at heads, cills and under the roof eaves, while remaining permeable to trapped water and water vapour – similar to a flexible breathable style material for the building facade.

Often used in conjunction with the reliable ISO-Bloco 600 or ISO-Bloco 300 tape on the jambs (both of which accommodate the required shear movement), providing a compatible and continuous weatherseal.
