Best in Show

GED Integrated Solutions’ latest addition to their family of i-3 Technologies – the Automated Tri-Lite Assembly System (Atlas) – has won the coveted ‘Best in Show’ Award as voted by attendees at the recent GlassBuild exhibition (12-14 September) in Atlanta.

Visitors to GlassBuild were able to see the glass fabrication system that produces triple pane IG units in only 20-second cycle times.

The ability to simplify the complexity of manufacturing both triple and dual pane IGUs in any sequence is made possible through the development of GED’s new Win IG-5 software and the ‘no-touch’ Vortex vacuum lift technologies.

WIN IG-5 Software allows the sealed unit manufacturer to have complete production control of every aspect of the IGU manufacturing process. Operations can now schedule each unique IGU in a one-piece flow manner as the visual software interface provides grid, spacer and glass alignment. Additionally, its Queue Management module allows for remakes and deletions and additions of IGUs to the schedule.

Regular working demonstrations on GED’s stand convinced many visitors to GlassBuild that Atlas is a winner, especially the speed and consistency with which it can process the increasingly popular, yet tricky and otherwise slow to make, triple glazed units. So convinced were they that not only did Atlas win the ‘Best in Show’ Award as voted by attendees, but the company also received several orders for the machine on the stand.

The company will be taking space at Vitrum in Milan this October as interest has already been shown from European IG manufacturers and as the show is next on the international glass show calendar it presents itself as an excellent opportunity to discuss further.
