Paint adds detail to grey foil

A period cottage restoration in Lockerbie includes 18 Vertical Sliders in Flat Anthracite Grey inside and out – but with additional spray paint for attention to detail – by Spectus fabricator World Group of Carlisle.

World Group’s customer needed the windows to maintain the heritage feel of the building and comply with planning permission requirements, while creating a contemporary feel to the property.

World Group Director Matthew Spooner said: “The Spectus Vertical Slider gave our customer the type of window he needed, not least because it is very well accepted.”

But he added that the customer wanted completely grey windows so the issue of the standard white PVC-U substrate needed to be addressed to ensure attention to detail. He explained: “When it came to the issue of the white substrate, we resolved this by using our spray booth to paint it and provide the seamless finish the customer was looking for.

“We are delighted with the project, as is the customer because it gives him everything he asked for in terms of the aesthetics. It’s turned a rundown building into something stunning.”
