Family owned trade fabricator Dempsey Dyer has announced that Peter Dyer is the new Managing Director. His father and predecessor Tom Dyer will step into the role of Chairman, in which he will continue to offer strategic advice, but will not be involved in the day to day running of the company.
Tom said: “In order to maintain continuity for the company and its team of employees, I have decided now is the time to step into the role of Chairman and transfer day to day responsibility into the capable hands of Peter and his management team. Peter is fully committed to the values the company strives to maintain and also to the challenge of ensuring stability for the company in a dynamic market with the constant review of existing operations in line with current best practice.
“I will miss the working relationship with the Dempsey Dyer team, customers and suppliers and the good natured humour that kept us all going in difficult times - especially in the recent six-year recession.”
Peter, who joined the company at the age of 21 and has served his apprenticeship working in several of the operational areas, added: “Being the beneficiary of a family business, I feel a strong sense of responsibility to my current and future colleagues in creating a sustainable, rewarding and fun environment where strong relationships are maintained with customers and suppliers alike.”
