A new lease of life in Harrow

An ageing council estate in Harrow has been given a new lease of life with a £2million investment including new triple glazing from CWG Choices installer Install Direct Ltd for the refurbishment of nearly 80 flats.

The installation, through main contractor Thomas Sinden Ltd, included 104 aluminium clad, triple glazed KBE System 88 windows, supplied by CWG Choices. The system that is part of Kömmerling’s product portfolio in the UK, offers incredible levels of energy efficiency, down to a 0.6W/m2K and also provides significant sound reduction.

The 88mm optimum frame depth for energy efficiency inherent in the KBE System 88, also allows for a standard triple glazing bead and there’s also a range of reinforcement options including foam-filled steels, along with the adoption of standard UK hardware. The system’s credentials for the commercial market are impressive too, as it’s co-extruded with a Greenline lead-free skin with a fully recycled internal construction. The external aluminium AluStar cladding option was used in this project, but there’s also over 40 other foiled finishes available.
