FOLDING STEEL WALL IS NEW TO THE UK
2nd October 2012

New to the UK is the Janisol Folding Wall from Schueco Jansen, who see it as the perfect product to benefit from the growing popularity of sliding/folding doors in both commercial and domestic markets. Made from thermally insulated steel profiles, with a front-to-back depth of just 60 mm, its robust, durable, all-welded construction makes it suitable for both inside and outside use.

Top-hung on rollers which can accommodate leaf weights of up to 100 kg, the Schueco Jansen Janisol Folding Wall uses roller guides and a floor channel to ensure a smooth and quiet operation at all times. Depending upon the threshold design, the Folding Wall may be used internally, without thermal insulation, as a room-divider or externally, with insulation, as a large exterior opening door.

It offers design flexibility since up to six leaves may be combined in a variety of combinations and threshold options. The doors can be specified to fold to the inside or the outside and, like all Schueco Jansen doors and windows, the welded manufacturing process mean that no mitred corner or butt joints are visible. This feature and the physical properties of steel imbue the Janisol Folding Wall with an unmistakeable feeling of quality.

Leaf sizes up to 800 mm wide x 2700 mm high can be achieved with a leaf face width of only 25 mm and, with an intermediate leaf-to-leaf dimension of only 105 mm, the Janisol Folding Wall delivers very slim and elegant sight-lines. Glazing units up to 37 mm thick can be fitted to provide high levels of insulation.

Larger doors, with leaf sizes up to 1000 mm wide and 3200 mm high, are constructed using a 50 mm wide leaf (based on typical ground-floor locations) and an intermediate leaf-to-leaf size of 155 mm.
