New CNCs help £20m Door-Stop go for growth
2nd October 2012

A 24% rise in sales has spurred Door-Stop to invest in two new CNC centres. With seven CNC machines in total, Door-Stop now has the capacity to make 2,200 composite doors a week on a single shift. Managing Director Nick Dutton says Door-Stop commissioned the new routers to stay ahead of demand: “Our customers are experiencing rapid growth in the composite door market, which helped us hit the no.1 spot earlier this year.”

Door-Stop’s latest accounts, published in August, record a turnover of just under £20 million in its 4th year of trading.

Nick adds: “The composite door market is still increasing at the expense of PVC door panels, but Door-Stop’s growth is faster than the market because we’re meeting a real need. Our online ordering and 3 day delivery doors are still unmatched, four years on, while the specification and quality of our standard doorset is one of the highest on the market. The new CNC machines mean we can comfortably stay ahead of demand while delivering the best customer service, creating a sustainable business.”
