GGF pledges ‘even more support’
through Covid-19
2nd June 2020

The GGF says it is now aiming to provide even more support to help the industry survive the Covid-19 crisis after publishing more than 55 articles including its recent safe guides for homeowners and companies.

Managing director John Agnew says the federation’s priority will always be to members but it is in everyone’s interest for it to help the entire industry to recover:

“ We’ll continue to provide free guidance and information to all companies in the industry,” he said, but for Members, we will be putting together some additional activities to provide even more support.

“It is important the industry’s supply chain starts functioning and for companies to work together. However, they must ensure they can work safely within the Government Guidance which is the foundation of our all of our articles, Safe Guides and advice.”

The organisation is now completing plans for the second half of 2020, which it says will introduce more new services designed to help the industry through the Covid-19 crisis and Members can expect to benefit from ‘promotional tools, greater engagement with GGF staff and other Members, as well as more high quality trusted guidance’. It will also continue to work with key Government departments and related construction bodies, to ensure ongoing political influence in new Government initiatives, legislation, standards and working practices.

John Agnew concluded “The GGF, as the industry’s leading trade body, has always been well placed to deliver the services to benefit our Members and the industry. Over the next few weeks and months, we will be introducing new services and activities to help Members operate safely and responsibly. There’s a lot to be done in this very challenging environment but we will to ensure our Members and the industry recovers and look forward to better times ahead.”
