Pontefract based PVC-U and timber fabricator DEMPSEY DYER has donated £600 to its neighbouring South Kirkby Brass Band to go towards new instruments and uniforms as well as transport and other costs. The band is a finalist in the National Brass Band Championship, to be held at the Albert Hall, later this year.
Peter Dyer, sales and marketing director at Dempsey Dyer comments: “I and everyone at Dempsey Dyer think it’s important to get involved in our local community and help out where we can. We’re delighted to see a local brass group reach the finals of such a prestigious competition and we wish South Kirkby Brass Band the very best of luck!”
A spokesperson from South Kirkby Brass Band commented: “We’d like to thank Peter and Dempsey Dyer for the generous donation. South Kirkby Brass Band provides an outlet for a range of people of different ages and the money will help go towards much needed resources to keep the band up and running.”
