Hard and fast
Planibel G fasT is a low-e glass that is fast and easy to process for double glazing applications.
Featuring AGC’s special T coating, this hard-coated glass can be positioned so that the Low-E coating is in direct contact with the rollers in the furnace, allowing efficient heat pick up without damage and therefore offering a much faster cycling time - as much as up to 15% - and higher yield through the factory.
Leading independent glass processor Holloseal Glass in Cambridgeshire is profiting from working with a high performance, hard-coat product like G fasT in terms of easier handling, no edge stripping, speedier toughening times and increased productivity.
Holloseal Glass uses AGC G fasT in many of its own sealed units and also supplies it as single toughened glass to other IG manufacturers. Managing director, Fraser Nicol, said: “We prefer to use a high performance hard coat like G fasT when we can because it’s more resilient than soft coat, which makes it easier to handle and less likely to get damaged or scratched. As a result, we can process it more quickly and it produces a really good quality toughened glass.”
