The Window Company (Contracts) Ltd has attained Silver Level 2 in the GGF Glass Charter scheme.
At July’s GGF Joint Window and Door Group and Conservatory Association meeting in Solihull, Phil Pinnington, GGF Health, Safety and Facilities Manager awarded the Glass Charter Certificate to its Chairman David Thornton.
David said: “Being awarded The Glass Charter at Silver Level 2 was a real achievement for all the Window Company (Contracts) staff. It followed a rigorous inspection process which is just how it should be. One of the good things about the process is it doesn’t matter what level you achieve first time around because the guidance and information is there to help you achieve a higher level. The highest award is the Gold level and at the Window Company (Contracts) we are all working to achieve this because we know we can and Health and Safety matters!”
The GGF Glass Charter was instigated in 2001 when the glass industry took up the Government’s Revitalising Health and Safety Initiative. In partnership with both industry and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) the Glass and Glazing Federation launched the GLASS Charter (Goal; Less Accidents, Safer Sites). In 2016 the scheme was updated by the GGF in line with the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) five year strategy focusing on a pathway to continuous improvement.
