Multiple material fabricator

First Degree Systems can help fabricators who manufacture multiple materials become more productive with their new Multiple Material Lists (MML) module.

Accessible through Window Designer 7, First Degree’s new manufacturing and business management software, the module enables any material or specialist product to be processed in the same job.

First Degree’s sales and marketing director Alan Bark explained: “The ability to process PVCU, aluminium and timber in the same order is a major benefit to fabricators and ultimately means they can be more productive, reduce administration and offer better customer service. We have been told by customers already using MML that it has made a huge difference to their business.

“Unfortunately some fabricators are still using software that can only support one material type, meaning hours of additional processing and admin which results in them being nowhere near as productive as they could be.”

Simon Farmer, managing director at First Degree, added: “When carrying out jobs using multiple materials, you simply create a job and select a ‘master material’. Then, when you add a frame it is easy to override the material through the click of a button before selecting the window style. As well as more common materials, the programme can also support steel, fibre glass or indeed any combination.”
