Fire door goes nationwide
1st November 2016

REHAU has announced that its Agila fire door is now officially available from a network of fabricators and its commercial sales team are now working with specifiers to win project specifications for the door and installers now have a choice of manufacturers to supply them.

Since its launch at the FIT Show, the Agila fire door has been fully tested and accredited at Exova BM Trada to a 30-minute fire rating in a full range of configurations including top and sidelight combinations.

This has been achieved using a choice of Distinction door slabs, Lorient intumescent, Yale locks, Fullex hinges, and Kerto laminated timber, Exitex low threshold and an Astra self closer.

Barnsley based Euroglaze and Shepley in Manchester have all been fully trained in the manufacture of the doors and have successfully completed their fabrication trials, while Hart & Co in Skelmersdale will be completing training early in 2017.

Rehau says that the Agila fire door is quicker and easier to fabricate than its original Rauferno branded fire door and has been successfully value engineered so that it is a more cost effective option for specifiers.

Gareth Jones, Rehau’s Marketing and Technical Director, said: “All of these fabricators have been carefully selected based on their previous experience in manufacturing fire doors and have been fully supported on site by Rehau’s technical team throughout the process.”

Rehau also offers the 30 minute fire rated Rauferno window and, what is believed to be, the first PVC-U window complete with an AOV which complies with the mandatory EN12101-2 governing natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilators.
