Supporting working families
1st May 2018

An after-school child care service that provides a vital resource to help working families in and around Cumbernauld is benefiting from a donation by CMS WINDOW SYSTEMS.

The Cumbernauld YMCA provides the service in fourteen schools as part of its Out of School Care programme, which caters for children aged between five and 12. On offer is a wide range of play and educational activities including arts and crafts, outdoor play, active sports, music and drama, plus homework assistance. As a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, the Cumbernauld YMCA relies on the generosity of local businesses and individuals through funding and volunteering to maintain this high quality service.

Jim Cruickshank, Centre Manager at the organisation said, “Being a registered charity we rely on fund raising and donations to continue our work. The support from CMS is greatly appreciated. It boots the moral of both staff and users alike knowing there are companies in the community willing to help.”

CMS Chief Operating Officer David Ritchie added: “Without access to such an excellent service, many people who live and work in and around Cumbernauld – including a number of employees here at CMS – would find it harder to balance work and family commitments, and that’s why it is important for the whole community that it succeeds.”
