Sterling PVC-u opens third factory

Sterling PVC-U, the Warrington-based fabricator and installer of Halo doors and windows, has expanded yet again and opened a third factory which is dedicated to manufacturing composite, patio and bi-folding doors.

“We’ve found that both retail and trade customers prefer to get all their requirements from one source and so the demand for doors has grown significantly, even though they weren’t a core product until we added this factory,” comments Bob Beeton, sales director.

The new unit already employs five fabricators who are fully trained on all aspects of manufacturing the range of door products and additional staff will be recruited as demand grows.

Established in 1993, Sterling has grown steadily year-on-year servicing customers throughout the UK. In 2003 it invested in a further factory at Chesford Grange that boosted its manufacturing capacity to more than 1200 window frames per week and it now employs 54 full-time staff. The latest addition means that these factories can focus on windows without the potential disruption of switching production to large doors.
