More than 1500 m2 of facade and window glass from PRESS GLASS was used in the building of the Museum of the Second World War in Gda?sk, Poland.
With design by Architectonic Studio Kwadrat, the building is embedded in the ground down to about 18 m, with the above ground section forming an inclined prism about 40 m high.
For the structure of the glazed facade and the skylight, Press Glass provided glazed units with solar control high selectivity glass with light transmittance of about 60% and low total solar energy transmittance of about 30%.
glass from Press Glass with built-in fixing elements was also used to construct the glazed connection between the museum and the administrative building, and also in the window joinery in the administrative building and to glaze the patio.
The top level is occupied by a coffee shop and restaurant with a glazed skylight that "open" the building onto a panorama of Gda?sk.
The museum was officially opened to visitors on March 23.
