VICE PRESIDENT ROLE FOR SAINT-GOBAIN GLASS MD

Dr Alan McLenaghan, Managing Director of Saint-Gobain Glass UK, has recently been appointed as Vice President (Manufacturing) of Saint-Gobain Glass.

Alan has been with Saint-Gobain Glass UK since the start of construction at the Eggborough site in 1998. He has led the Company through the start-up of the float line, followed by the introduction of the Coating and Laminating processes. More recently he has been instrumental in the business success of the Company through his role as Managing Director. During this period, Alan has notably greatly influenced the company’s excellent health and safety performance, led the innovative Cullet recycle programme and also entered and subsequently won the 2005 Best Factory Award.

Alan remains a director of British Glass and will continue to represent the Saint-Gobain Group at the CBI as an active member of the Manufacturing Council.

In his new role, Alan will have global responsibility for investment control, asset performance, the global World Class Manufacturing Programme, Quality and Logistics. Alan will also retain his position as Managing Director, and will split his time between visiting Saint-Gobain Glass plants across the globe in his new role, and continuing to forge links with SGGUK customers, as well as leading the management team at Eggborough.
