EcoClear sales forecast bucks recession in 2009

Last year leading sealed unit manufacturer Solaglas Ltd, launched EcoClear, one of the most technically advanced double glazed units on the market. Since launch, sales have increased dramatically month-on-month and are forecast to grow by over 300% year-on-year in 2009.

Matthew Kirby, Solaglas’ Glass Marketing Manager explains EcoClear’s success, “We wanted to make it easy for window companies to sell energy efficient windows in a market where homeowners are increasingly recognising the benefits. With EcoClear window fabricators can achieve C, B or A Window Energy Ratings in the simplest, most cost efficient way. An ‘A’ rating is achieved by using a sealed unit with one pane of SGG Diamant low iron, extra-clear glass, the new SGG Planitherm Total high performance low-e glass, Swisspacer V warm edge spacer bar and 90% argon gas filling. A ‘C’ rating is even easier to achieve with EcoClear as no extra clear glass or warm edge bar is needed.

A major selling point for installers – particularly in a recession - is the significant financial saving to homeowners from installing windows with EcoClear sealed units. Homeowners are able to save over £9,000 in heating a typical semi-detached property over a 20 year period.

EcoClear also leads the way in having 33% recycled glass content compared to 10-15% in other brands of glass. And using superior coating technology, EcoClear has no tint or haze effect, giving excellent visual clarity.
