Gloucester-based aluminium fabricator CDW Systems, has received an award from profile supplier Technal UK (Hydro Building Systems) for cutting CO2 emissions by using its Circal 75 recycled profile.

CDW group chairman Jeremy Phillips said: “Technal UK enables us to provide our customers with a viable green and sustainable option and we are proud to receive this prestigious award from them.

“It’s really pleasing that in using Technal Profiles that utilize Circal 75R alloy as much as possible we can contribute towards reducing our carbon footprint.

“This reinforces the sustainability credentials of aluminium. We are also looking at more efficient ways that both our factory waste and post-consumer waste can be recycled.”

Having ordered 44 tonnes to date of Circal 75R, Hydro’s 75% recycled aluminium profiles, CDW along with sister company Clearway Doors & Windows, has helped save 378 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Hydro MD Allan Barr said: “It’s great pleasure to recognise the work CDW Systems has done to lower their carbon emissions by using Technal Profiles that are sourced using Hydro Circal 75R alloy and we are looking forward to this sustainable partnership continuing well into the future. Great achievement by all at CDW Systems.”
