Hodgson Sealants Group has acquired the entire share capital of Britchem Ltd from the previous owners Roy Barton and Trevor Jones, saying that it will keep the West Yorkshire based manufacturer as an independent company, and welcoming all existing staff and customers.

Britchem is an independent private label manufacturer of sealants for both UK and export. Hodgson Sealants was founded in 1968 and, with Hampshire based sister company HS Butyl, is the UK’s leading independent sealant and butyl tape manufacturer, employing more than 200 people.

“Britchem is a successful well-run business, and it has been a pleasure to work with Roy Barton and Trevor Jones to bring this company on board,” said Charles Hodgson of Hodgson Sealants Group.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming all the staff and customers of Britchem into the Group.

“We share many values with them including a strong customer and quality focus, a flexible manufacturing approach, and a trust and belief in our people. We are determined to build on the success already enjoyed by Britchem.”

Hodgson’s was supported in this acquisition by Richard Firth of Leeds based Park Place Corporate Finance, Matthew Smith and Samuel Peake of Andrew Jackson Solicitors LLP, with funding provided by Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
