The Council for Aluminium in Building has announced the formation of its own Training Academy, following the appointment of Andrew Mather as training and technical manager, with plans to roll out a raft of training schemes throughout the year.

First, the organisation is introducing to members in partnership with the ALFED Training Academy, a range of ‘Office Function’ courses for members’ professional staff, covering ‘Effective Sales’, ‘Marketing & Digital Marketing’, ‘Managing People for Results’, ‘Emotional Intelligence’ and ‘Finance for Non-finance Managers’.

The establishment of the academy follows a survey of association members last year, the provision of training as a member resource was high on their list of priorities. This led to the appointment of Andrew Mather, as Training and Technical Manager for the Association in December 2021 prior to the formation of the academy.

Further ‘Essential Knowledge’ courses are planned, covering other topics that will offer the industry training that helps give new entrants to the facade market much needed basic skills. These ‘Foundation Knowledge’ courses also form the first step in gaining a UK & Ireland recognised CSCS skills card.
