Safety glass manufacturer TuffX has expanded its Knowsley factory by 10,000sqft, bringing it to a total of 80,000sqft

The expansion, via possession of an adjoining unit, is the manufacturer’s second in recent months after last year’s move to accommodate a third Glaston glass tempering furnace.

The latest move will allow extra space for the in-house manufacture of Infinity range components, as well as assembly of the complete units.

Managing director Graham Price said: “This extra space to manufacture our components in-house will also mean that some of the component supply issues currently affecting the industry will not impact on our orders, which is another win for TuffX customers.

“It will also enable us to maintain the efficiency and focus on quality that we strive to deliver. As the market demand for safe and high-performing glass products increases, we are making every effort to sustain the tight lead times and high standards of service our customers have come to expect.”
